First Abacus Financial Holdings Corporation traces its roots to the Seven Seas Oil Exploration, Inc., an oil exploration firm listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) in 1994. After a structural reorganization, the Company changed its primary corporate purpose from that of oil exploration to providing integrated financial services. First Abacus formally changed its name and par value in the PSE on February 1996, representing the country's first direct access towards investing in the local capital markets.
